2011

Just a throwback from 2009 (?). My plates from the Wynn hotel's champagne brunch. It's one of my favorite buffets in Vegas because their food is unique (lamb rissotto what?!?).  My last post for the year. I can't wait for 2012. Hopefully, more days off from work = more places to visit and food to eat. I'm planning to conquer the East Coast next year (almost half way conquering the 50 states), maybe Montreal and Toronto, and hopefully Cabo. I might not go home next year and I'm super sad about it but looking forward to going home in 2013 (crossing my fingers). Happy New Year to those who read my blog (Latvia, US, and Philippines)!!!

Jitlada

For my parent's 31st anniversary, we went to Jitlada for dinner. I really like the blue crab soup, morning glory salad, chicken rice, and the crying tiger beef (as seen on food network's best thing ever).Guess who we saw for appetizer???

a day in sin city

Drove my sister for an interview with UHH in Vegas. It took 4 hours each way to get there and go home. There was no traffic so the drive wasn't that bad. The main reason I went there was to eat at Studio B. I miss their oxtail soup. I also wanted to try serendipity since I didn't get to try it in NYC years ago. Enjoy the food photos below.

pain au chocolat --- i love

yum yum country fried steak --- yum

OXTAIL SOUP --- soooooo good!!!

Din Tai Fung + half and half tea house

I finally visited Din Tai Fung last weekend. It was bad timing since tw streets in Arcadia were clogged due to the uprooted trees. The flavors were muted/"Americanized"/less MSG. The pork and pork and crab xiao long baos were ok. I didn't really like the thickness of the wrapper.
Afterwards we went to get milk teas from half and half tea house. It's my current obsession now and even my aunt likes them. Love my milk tea with lychee jelly and pudding. Next time, I'll just get the lychee jelly because I what more milk tea.
