halo halo

I've been on hiatus for the last weeks because I have to study for my FPC test. Thank God it's over and I passed my test. Anyways, here are some random photos of food that I've been eating last month. Most of my photos are from my Iphone or my sister's and are taken with hipstamatic.
On a side note, I can't wait to have a vacation since I'm super jealous of my friends going back home. I'm just hoping that the water from the Atlantic isn't that cold. I'm looking forward to my journey to the South.

Roscoe's chicken and buckwheat waffles --- always consistent...really some comfort food.

Another comfort food: Shrimp cake from Sanamluang Cafe in Hollywood Blvd. My friend's funny (Beerthday girl Gail).

Gail: Their shrimp cake taste salty today.
Me: huh? (in my head it taste the same just like any other day I've been there).
later on...
Gail: ooooppppsss...I realized I was dipping it in the fish sauce (which was meant for the combination fried rice)
Ayayay...ahahaha :)

Pistachio macaron and chocolate ones. Taste the same but the size wasn't consistent.

Lychee Pinkberry yogurt with raspberries. I love Pinkberry! My fave yogurt spot.

@vchostruck pudding with plantains. Yum. I've been craving for one and wanted to make it. I like that it's dense and it has that sweet syrup for flans. It was free too. I always check who'll be at Best Buy Signal Hill and when I they tweeted that whoever can guess this can I have it for free I wasted no time to google it. Love google. I instantly got the answer that it was pudding with plantains (I knew it was plantains and not bananas...I read and watch too much about food). When I came to the truck, the guy didn't understood me and thought I wanted to order desert. I told him I wanted to guess it because they tweeted about it. Since he blurted it out already and asked if I was the one who tweeted back, he gave it to me for free.

@vchostruck mix pupusas. It took almost/about 20 minutes to get this but it was all worth it. I like the combination of the pork, cheese, and beans. When I got home it was still hot and fresh. It's comparable to the pupuseria spot by a carwash I go to.

The Behemoth Burger by the Grill 'Em All Truck. It was Ok. I'm not fond of it. The burger itself is bland. Not my fave and I won't go back for it.

Fried rice with portuguese sausage from the King's Hawaiian bakery. It was good but I wouldn't pay $6.50 for it. The two small slices of portuguese sausage was for an additional $2.00 if I remember it right. This was my post exam lunch. I was still high from my exam results but this one let me down a bit.

Oven broiled carne asada meat from Northgate market ($5.99 per pound but it's worth every penny. I love beef).

My mom's mango salsa. Mango, tomatoes, cilantro, salt, pepper, and lemon juice (my fave salsa. I like it without onions and prefer lime over lemon juice)
