others

I'm getting hungry (I've already posted 5 entries about food this morning and my brain's telling me to eat breakfast). Here are some random photos of yummy goodness.

Utek ya baboy from Pangasinan = cholesterol 911 yummy goodness. It's homemade and I can't believe my co-worker's relative sneaked it here. I wonder who can make this for me. It's like sisig and you'll never know it's pig's brain.

Starbuck's lollicakes. Tiramisu and rocky road. I like the tiramisu. For some reason their baked goodies are good for my taste. It's because I like my baked goodies moist. I like their brownies too.

My fave shrimp ceviche from Taco Nazo

My fave fish taco from Taco Nazo

red and blue velvet pancakes

Larmont Bungalow's red and blue heavenly goodness pancakes = love. The cream cheese frosting was not too sweet and perfect for my taste.

We also ordered the steak benedict. It was ok. The steak was tough and overcooked for my taste (i want it medium) and the eggs were ok. I love the eggs benedict from Urth better.

thai time

I love Thai food. I wanna visit Thailand (hopefully next year).

Pad thai from the restaurant near my work = yum

seafood pad thai from Thai Boom (near my house) = double yum because of real seafood added to it

Free egg rolls from Thai Boom

food truck

Here are some food truck photos that I haven't posted:

Lobsta truck's lobster roll = yum even though it's snack size

buttermilk truck's red velvet pancakes = heavenly goodness

Get your lardon's blt (it's good but not my fave)

Fresh fries' sweet potato fries (i love umami's better)

Grill Em All's Witte (It was ok. The burger itself was bland. I tried Behemoth too but it's not all that.)

Longboard's cookies and cream dipped in melted dark chocolate ghiradelli and rolled in oreos = i've been craving about it.

farmer's market tamales

I love the farmer's market tamales (the name of the stall is Me Gusta Gourmet Tamales). My favorite is the chicken tamales with salsa verde. So yummy.

My fave. Chicken tamale with salsa verde.

Beef tamale with a bit spicier red salsa.

fan mode

Amy Chua aka "tiger mom" re-tweeted and responded to my tweet a couple of days ago. It made my day and I can't stop telling my sister about it. I read her book, Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother,  in a week's time. There has been a long queue at the library for this book. I borrowed the book but I'm buying one for sure because it's really a good one. Tiger mom's funny. My sister and I discuss the funny moments of the book. We think it's funny that she makes her kids practice even when they're on vacation, that Lulu have to do "extra credit", that she exaggerates when she describes a situation (i.e. when she's mad she'll tell stories that when she was young her dad asked her to dig a "swimming pool"), and many more. There was some sad moments too. I was crying when her sister told her she was sick and my heart was in pain when Lulu acts "rebellious" to her. Tiger mom inspired me to really be persistent and hard-working. To not settle for less. To not be mediocre anymore. I hope it's not too late.
